Training workshop on foamed concrete and technical guidance on experimental and industrial production of foamed concrete carried out by ICM experts in Vietnam Institute of Building Materials (VIBM).

Central Asia Chapter of ACCRA established in Kazakhstan

Aiming to provide an international platform for technical communication and international cooperation among central Asia countries, Central Asia Chapter of ACCRA was established in October 2016 in Kazakhstan.

International Center for Materials Technology Promotion (ICM) was established by UNIDO in 2002 with the support of Chinese government, with its headquarters in Beijing. The counterpart of ICM is China Building Materials Academy (CBMA).

ICM mission is to set up global framework and mechanisms to facilitate the technology transfer and diffusion processes in new materials technologies, thus to assist the developing countries to bridge the gap between market demand and technological base, strengthen South-South and North-South cooperation and meet the requirements of sustainable development in materials industry.

I.  With the support of South-South Development Center (SSDC) and China International Center for Economic and Technical Exchanges (CICETE), ICM undertakes the SSDC Small Project Building Efficiency and R&D and Application of Energy Efficient Walling Systems Tailored for Vietnam. The duration of this project will be 24 months starting from January 2014 through December 2015.

New heat-insulation foamed concrete and pre-cast lightweight composite wall materials have been developed and a production line has been demonstrated with the assistance of ICM experts in this project.

Asian Cement and Concrete Research Academy (ACCRA), established under framework of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative

Under framework of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative, Asian Cement and Concrete Research Academy (ACCRA), established by ICM in 2015 to promote the international cooperation among the countries along the Belt and Road, and then strengthen the South-South cooperation.

II. Asian Cement and Concrete Research Academy (ACCRA), established by ICM in 2015 under framework of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative, strives to facilitate and accelerate innovation to guide the sustainable development of Asia cement and concrete industries through creating and disseminating knowledge from research findings, and strengthen the South-South Cooperation among developing countries.
