As a registered consulting engineer, and chief of Special Committee on Hydroelectric Power of China Hydraulic Society, he has been engaged in research and application of renewable energy and rural hydropower. He has completed more than 20 projects of state and provincial level. Among the new technology and equipment of hydropower and energy that he mainly took charge, 1 was awarded the first prize, 2 the second prize, 3 the third prize. He has obtained 10 patents, which are popularized and applied both at home and abroad with remarkable economic and social benefits generated. Besides, he has been lecturing for more than 30 training workshops or seminars for over 1000 participants. He has complied 1 piece of book, taken part in the compilation of another 4 books, published over 30 papers. Moreover, he was in charge of 3 national standards and 6 industry standards, as well as scores of feasibility reports and design reports. Additionally, he has presided over China-Vietnam middle-term and long-term science and technology cooperation project including Emergency-supporting Technology for Rural Hydropower against Disasters Caused by Climate Change, national key R&D program of inter-governmental sci-tech innovation and China-ASEAN Maritime Cooperation Fund program-Renewable Energy Assessment and Demonstration for Islands of ASEAN Countries.
