My main research goal is to analyze the properties and catalytic mechanism of [Fe]-hydrogenase using X-ray crystallographic, biochemical and spectroscopic methods. In addition, I am working on the analysis of semi-synthetic [Fe]/[Mn]-hydrogenase using chemical mimic compounds of [Fe]-hydrogenase cofactor. Participated in German Natural Science Foundation Key Project-DFG Program 1927 “Iron-Sulfurfor Life” (SH 87/1-1). The 14 research articles ware published in Nature Catalysis, Nature Chemistry and Nature Review Chemistry et al.
